This is the second year in a row that Oorja’s innovation has been part of this program. Previously, Oorja’s Radiant Cooling technology was selected.

The UN Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) is the annual Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The annual COP is the supreme decision making body of the UNFCCC. In this international convention, 197 countries have committed themselves to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. In light of the outcomes of the Paris Agreement, there is a lot of buzz and expectations for more reduction of emission of Greehouse Gases (GHG) and other positive climate change action plan.

Oorja has been selected to be a part of the India Pavilion at the event as a leading Cleantech Innovator.
The event will showcase the innovations by Oorja in Cleantech Heating & Cooling and Oorja’s representive will also be part of the panel discussions at the event.

We would like to share this honour with all customers, vendors and partners whose contributions have helped us reach this stage.

“The two entrepreneurs — Oorja Energy Engineering Pvt Ltd and Boond Engineering Services Pvt Ltd — have been conferred with WWF-India’s Climate Solver award under the GHG Reduction and Energy Access category, respectively,” a WWF statement said.

Climate Solver is a global innovation platform that encourages innovations in technology and business models that contribute towards mitigating climate change and enhancing energy access through their economic growth.

WWF’s Climate Solver platform first began in Sweden in 2008 and has now expanded to China, South Africa and India.

“Climate Solver platform complements the efforts by the government to provide momentum to the innovation ecosystem in the country.

“Through this platform, we have been showcasing some of the best innovations emerging from the SME sector that are scalable and have tremendous scope for mitigating carbon emissions and enhancing energy access to people living in remote and rural areas,” said Ravi Singh CEO, WWF-India.

Speaking at the event, Stefan Henningsson, Senior Adviser, Climate Innovation, WWF, Sweden, said that though there is a relatively high public research and development expenditure in the Indian market, one cannot see as many Indian cleantech entrepreneurs being listed on the stock market.

“Thus, the need for expansion finance for our Indian entrepreneurs is an issue of Indian competitiveness as well as the global emissions reduction,” he said.

Oorja Energy Eng’g has been awarded as one of the Top 50 Influential Leaders in Solar Energy. The award was conferred at the Global Solar Energy Conference and Awards at Taj Lands End, Mumbai on 26th November, 2015. Oorja’s Managing Director Mr. R Madhusudhan Rao received the award at the event.

Solar EnergyOorja was awarded as Top 50 Influential Leaders in Solar Energy

Oorja has been at the forefront of innovation in Solar Thermal technologies and has implemented many solutions like:

  • Solar for Industrial Process Heat
  • Boiler Feed-water pre-heating using Solar
  • Solar Drying of Industrial Effluents
  • Solar for Community Cooking

Oorja’s Solar solutions offer the benefit of reduction in fossil fuel consumption for various industrial process heat requirements. Processes like:

  • Pasteurization
  • Drying
  • Distillation
  • Evaporation
  • Sterilization etc.

can use high temperature solar heat from concentrators to supplement the heat from traditional sources.
